After a full week of AmericanaFest, one might feel fested out, but the Campfire Propaganda Day Party for Headcount.org is sure to out you back in the running and for a very good cause — the future of our nation. Sponsored by East Siders Tim Easton and Michael Weintrob, the event brings a day of entertainment and civic participation to the 919 Gallatin Road. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, a full slate of top-notch talent will be taking the stage at Michael Weintrob Photography Studio to celebrate the music of America and our right to vote.
In partnership with Headcount.org, a non-partisan organization that works with musicians to promote participation in democracy through voter registration drives at concerts and music festivals, the event will feature sets from Adrian & Meredith, Korby Lenker, Megan Palmer, Amy Spence, The Wild Ponies, Matt Harlan, Danny Schmidt & Carrie Elkin, Chris Fullerton, Tim Easton’ Jaimee Harris, Western Youth, Will Hoge, Eliza Gilkyson, Jim White, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and Mary Gauthier.
Also on tap is a set of performances by members of House of Songs, an international organization based in Austin, Texas that promotes collaboration and cultural exchange among songwriters around the world. Bonnie Whitmore, Bonnie Montgomery, Cameron Johnson, Robbie Cavanaugh, Demi Merriner, Ryan Cook, and Tom Westwill all preform 10-minute sets of their work.
In addition, Jim White and Michael Weinstrob will be presenting a special showing their visual art, and for the thirsty music fans, Lagunitas Beer will be onsite. For more information, visit the Campfire Propaganda AMA Day Party event page on Facebook.
