Late last year, we heard about another new hair-care business coming to East Nashville: West Coast-born chain Rudy’s Barbershop, who’d be expanding their Nashville footprint to include the Hill Center Five Points.
As of this week, they’re here: The new Rudy’s East Nashville opens February 1 at 960 Woodland Street, and they’ll be celebrating opening day with free haircuts for neighbors.
The opening celebration kicks off at noon, and free cuts are on a first-come basis, with all tips going to the Southern Girls Rock Camp. From 6:30 to 9 that night, things'll be in full party mode, with Five Points Pizza, a Mortal Kombat arcade tournament and a DJ Russ Pollard. Party part’s free, too, and open to the public.
A little more insight into the Rudy's approach: “Since its Seattle conception in 1993, Rudy’s Barbershop has been committed to providing top-notch haircuts for men and women at an affordable price. Rudy’s offers a one-of-a-kind experience with a curated blend of art, music, and sense of place. Every shop is a cross-generational community center, buzzing with creative energy.”
More specifically: You can get everything from a buzz cut to color; short cuts are in the $30 range, long cuts in the $40 range.
Normal Rudy’s East Nashville hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. all week
The first Nashville Rudy’s opened in December in Edgehill Village, at 1200 Villa Place, and with this new East Nashville space, Rudy’s is up to 26 barbershops across the country.
