East Nashville’s finest will gather at The 5 Spot this Friday, March 10, to wish local kick-boxing guru and life coach Richie Lee well as he recovers from spinal reconstruction surgery.
Lee’s unrelenting positivity, dedication to East Nashville’s Karisma Fitness, and signature mohawk have made him an irreplaceable icon to many in the neighborhood.
The event, “Rebel With A Cause,” will be held from 8-11:30 p.m. The $5 ticket fees will be provided directly to Lee to help with his personal and business expenses as he recovers and remains unable to conduct fitness training with clients.
The list of performers reflects Lee’s eclectic and dedicated list of compatriots, including John Corabi, The Dead Deads, India Ramey, and Nashville Burlesque. Chances are high that special guests will appear too.
“The 5 Spot offered up the venue to Richie Lee, they started the ball rolling and other artists immediately signed on to help the cause,” Shannon Million, a dancer with Nashville Burlesque and event organizer, says. “It’s possible other, unannounced artists might sit in. Hey, it’s Nashville and Richie Lee has some famous friends and fans.”
In its high-energy celebration of a neighborhood icon and philanthropic mission, the event will encompass East Nashville’s creative, supportive community spirit.
“[Organizers at The 5 Spot] are do-gooders with a desire to give back to someone who has contributed so much to Nashville in his time of need,” Million says.
