East Nashville food and drink deals: Some of our favorites

Edley's East all-you-can-eat catfish

Some years back on East Nashville, With Love, I pulled together a collection of East Nashville meal deals, mostly as a very valuable service to myself.

In the relatively short time since, East Nashville's changed immensely, with a host of new restaurants and bars and folks setting roots. That said, with the benefit of a cheat sheet, you can still quite easily grab East Nashville food and drink in a way that takes it easy on the wallet. Say you're on a fancy cocktail hunt -- used to be a happy-hour deal for discounted cocktails at Holland House Bar & Refuge, but these days, they have an all-the-time classics menu with Mules, Sazeracs and Old Fashioneds for $6. We grow, and yet we still get chances to eat and drink on the cheap.

Again, totally selfishly, we rounded up some longtime favorites and newer additions to the East Nashville meal- and drink-deal landscape. This is an ongoing work in progress, so if you have some favorites in mind that we missed, give us a shout!

Your Week In East Nashville Food and Drink Deals

MONDAY

ANTICA (507 Main St.)
Newer modern American tapas space Antica has a fantastic happy hour set-up for groups who intend to snack with their imbibing. You can enjoy two for one drafts and well drinks, but if you choose one of their specialty cocktails (which are quite good) or a glass of wine, a small plate comes with. We highly recommend the poutine and fried potato gnocchi in truffle oil. (Even during regular hours, tapas are just $3.) On Mondays, happy hour extends late, from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

EASTLAND CAFE (97 Chapel)
Still one of the finest happy eats-and-drinks hours in the neighborhood, with a mix of $5 appetizers (from fish tacos to stone-baked pizzas) and specialty martinis and $3 premium beers. You can easily knock out a great dinner and a drink for under two tenners. Mondays, happy times are 5 to 6:30 p.m.

EDLEY'S EAST (908 Main St.)
