Nashville blues rock hip-shakers the Blackfoot Gypsies will swing through their hometown for a special appearance at 3rd and Lindsley on November 27. As the opening act for the Quaker City Nighthawks, the Gypsies will be heating up the stage and are the featured act on Lightning 100 WRLT’s critically acclaimed weekly broadcast concert series, “Nashville Sunday Night.”
“It is our first time to play ‘Nashville Sunday Night,’” Blackfoot Gypsies drummer Zack Murphy says. “I am very excited to be a part of it. I am frequently tuned into the program while driving around on Sunday nights. It will be nice to be on the other side of the broadcast this time. So get out of your sweatpants, and shake off your turkey/booze/shopping hangovers to come party with us one last time before the town is flooded with ugly Christmas sweaters and Nativity scenes.”
Since being profiled in the 2015 Music Issue of The East Nashvillian, the Black Gypsies have been burning up the road across the US in support of their album, Handle It, on local indie label Plowboy Records. Tickets are available through 3rd and Lindsley’s and the Blackfoot Gypsies’ websites. “Nashville Sunday Night” is broadcast on WRLT 100.1 FM each Sunday night from 8 to 10 p.m.
